SBVC Women Close Out Season at State

The San Bernardino Valley College women's cross country team went into the state championships looking to improve upon its run at the Southern California Regionals, where they took the final team qualification spot for the California Community College Athletic Association Championships.

SBVC was able to do that, finishing 18th as a team, but outranking three teams they finished behind at regionals.

Part of that success came with the placing of its top three runners. Callie Frias once again led the Wolverines to the finish, stopping the clock on the 5-kilometer course at 20 minutes, 12.7 seconds for 70th place, but 55th in the team scoring points. Priscilla De Leon was next, finishing 84th for 68 points with a time of 20:26.8, while teammate Ashley Reyna crossed at 20:29.6, good for 71 points in 88th place.

Liliana Wilson was the fourth Wolverine to finish, clocking in at 21:26.4. Alondra Mayorga wasn't far behind in the standings to close out the scoring five, posting a time of 21:46.4.
