The San Bernardino Valley College women's cross country team ran away with the Inland Empire Athletic Conference team championship Friday at Harry Griffen Park in La Mesa.
Callie Frias led the parade of SBVC women across the finish line, completing the 5-kilometer course in 21 minutes, 6 seconds to win the individual title. Teammate Priscilla de Leon was next across the line, finishing second overall with a time of 21:10.
The rest of the SBVC runners finished taking up spots five through 10. Ashley Reyna took the fifth spot with a time of 21:56, while Zyani Perez wasn't far behind with a time of 22:01. Liliana Wilson completed the scoring five with a time of 22:35 for seventh. Finishing in eighth was Alondra Mayorga at 22:42, while Emma Fierro stopped the clock for ninth at 22:57. Hazel Torres was the final SBVC runner to finish, taking 10th at 23:41.
SBVC will head back to the San Diego area again on Nov. 7, participating in the Southern California Championships at Naval Training Center Park.
