Women's Team Makes Strides in Early Season Meet

The women of the San Bernardino Valley College track team went to Cuyamaca College over the weekend, with several posting early season personal bests.

Sprinter Jade Campbell was the busiest runner for the SBVC women, competing in four events - the 200, 400, 4x100, and 4x400. She posted fourth place finishes in both the 200 (26.62 seconds) and 400 (1:01.48). She anchored both relays as well. the 4x100 - featuring Melanie Bravo, Jessie Espinoza, and Liliana Wilson - stopped the clock at 54.44 seconds. The 4x400 finished second with a time of 4:21.77, with Sara Jaquez joining Espinoza, Bravo, and Campbell.

Jaquez kept her early season success going, finishing third in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:08.07. SBVC soccer player Alondra Ruiz finishe fifth in the same event, posting a personal best of 5:33.79. 

Zailah Armenta took second in the 800 meters, stopping the clock at 2:41.15. And Liliana Wilson posted personal bests in the 100 (13.53 seconds) and 200 (28.49 seconds).
